Day 4 Poem: Granddaddy's Watch

Granddaddy's Watch
I picked up my granddaddy's watch,
a reminder of someone I loved and still love
A talker,
a salesman,
a traveler.

I winded the watch, setting it back to life.
How I wished I could wind back time,
to the beach,
to the first taste of oysters,
to a wet curly eared dog named Max.

I put the watch on my wrist, its heavy.
Its now something he shared with me at the end of his life,
like angels,
like prayers,
like our belief in our Lord.

  2. It made me think of my grandpa and my sweet dog that I loved for so long and miss them both so much. Thanks for sharing!
